Apply First Aid Course HLTFA301C
The purpose of the Course in Apply First Aid is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance

Pre & Co-requisites: Nil
Duration: 16 hours
Venue: This program can be conducted at your location of business or at a venue that is suitable and convenient to the participants. NKM Fire and Training is able to deliver this course at a time to suit your needs
Class Size: Normally a minimum of four (4) participants is required and a maximum of 20 participants is allowed.
Prerequisites: Nil
Content:
- The legal aspects of providing First Aid.
- Infection Control.
- Management of breathing and non breathing casualty.
- Management of common medical conditions.
- Chain of Survival
- CPR
- Understand the use of Automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Medical emergencies
- Patient Assessment
Evaluation: Competency is assessed during the course by way of practical demonstration and questioning to confirm essential knowledge.
Certificates: On successful completion of this course participants are awarded a Statement of Attainment.‡
This certificate is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue. Annual CPR refresher course is recommended
Next Step: Participants who have successfully completed this course are encouraged to undertake the Course HLTFA412A Apply Advanced First Aid.
