Apply Advanced First Aid  HLTFA412B

The purpose of the Course in Apply Advanced First Aid is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to provide advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other providers.

Entry requirements: Nil

Pre & Co-requisites: HLTFA311A Apply First Aid

Duration: 24 hours

Venue: This program can be conducted at your location of business or at a venue that is suitable and convenient to the participants. NKM Fire and Training is able to deliver this course at a time to suit your needs

Class Size: Normally a minimum of eight (8) participants is required and a maximum of 20 participants is allowed.

Prerequisites: Nil

Content:

  • The Chain of Survival
  • Infection control
  • EAR & CPR
  • Legal Responsibilities
  • Trauma management
  • Patient Assessment
  • Airway Management
  • Haemorrhage Control
  • Management of common medical conditions
  • Drug overdose

Evaluation: Competency is assessed during the course by way of practical demonstration of skills and at the conclusion by a multiple-choice exam.

All sections must be passed to qualify for the award Certificates: On successful completion of this course participants are awarded a Statement of Attainment.

This certificate is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue. It is recommended that CPR be updated every 12 months.
