Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTFA211A

The purpose of the Course Provide Basic Emergency Life Support is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures only.

Entry requirements: Nil

Pre & Co-requisites: This unit stands alone and incorporates the content of unit HLTCPR211A Perform CPR

Duration: 8 hours

Venue: This program can be conducted at your location of business or at a venue that is suitable and convenient to the participants.    NKM Fire and Training is able to deliver this course at a time to suit your needs.

Class Size: Normally a minimum of six (6) participants is required and a maximum of 20 participants is allowed.

Prerequisites: Nil

Content:

  • Recognise & respond to emergency
  • Infection control
  • Patient Assessment
  • Apply relevant First Aid
  • Management of common medical conditions
  • Trauma Management
  • Report Procedures
  • Request Ambulance Support

Evaluation: Competency is assessed during the course by way of practical demonstration of the Knowledge Skills and Essential Skills working individually and, where appropriate, as part of a first aid team.

Certificates: On successful completion of this course participants are awarded a Statement of Attainment  Provide Basic Emergency Life Support‡

This certificate is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue and therefore it is recommended that qualifications be updated regularly thereafter.

Next Step: Participants who have successfully completed this course are encouraged to undertake the Course Apply First Aid HLTFA311A
